All Ours - Food

The healthy food served at our All Ours meetings is locally produced and supplied by supporting businesses and organisations.

The Fresh Gardens

Peppers and mushrooms

The Fresh Gardens, part of Ecoworks, are located on the St Anns Allotment site, very close to the community centre - the distance the food travels from their gardens to our project is very minimal !!! - just across the road, in fact. Fresh is a social enterprise which aims to make organically grown fruit and vegetables available and affordable to all, as well as reducing food miles. FRESH also delivers horticultural training to young unemployed people and offers educational activities for all. For more information about the project, please contact Claire Peeters on 07815 296071 or email claire.peeters@ntlworld.com.

Arkwright Meadows Community Gardens

Grapes and peaches

Arkwright Meadows Community Gardens is a community garden in the heart of the meadows producing organically grown fruit and vegetables at a low cost price for the community to buy. They work with local schools and community groups and with the support of volunteers. They are open Monday to Thursday 9-4 for vegetable sales to the public. For further information please contact 0115 9867777.

Roots Natural Foods

Cheese and tomatoes

Roots Natural Foods are helping support All Ours with any other produce that we need. We have found them to be an excellent shop with helpful staff and they sell a wide range of vegetarian, vegan & organic foods. They also deliver a good selection of different size vegetable boxes. They can be found at 526 Mansfield Road, Sherwood and their phone number is [0115] 960 9014.

Thompson Brothers Green Grocers

The Thompson brothers are helping support All Ours with a range of goodies from their shop. We think they have an extremely quirky approach to fruit, vegetables and other produce that is excellent value and an entertaining shop as the brothers are very approachable, funny and quick witted. You can find them on Haydn Road in Sherwood or call them on 0115 960 9209.
